On the 13th February 2012 we are off to climb up Kilimanjaro on the Lemosho route. Kilimanjaro is generally accepted as the highest 'walkable mountain' in the world. It is a long and hard trek, which reaches an altitude of 5,895m and as there is no way of knowing how you are going to react to altitude in advance, there is no guarantees that we will make it to the top although 96% of people trekking Lemosho stand on top of Africa
We are paying for the trip ourselves to celebrate turning 30 but we are also looking to raise funds for several Scottish Mountain Rescue teams. Mountain rescue teams are all made up of volunteers and rely on donations to be able to continue to provide such a vital service.
