Story

I am competing in my first half-ironman (1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 20km run) to raise awareness of the Ubunye challenge and also help raise some much needed funds for it's charities: Vimba and the Angus Gillis Foundation - charities which support and enable communities in some of the poorest and most underdeveloped rural areas of South Africa and Zimbabwe.

'Ubunye' is a South African Xhosa word that means 'Team Spirit' or 'Togtherness'. This word reflects the Ubunye Challenge, which aims to bring people together from different walks of life to believe that we can make a difference in Africa.

The Ubunye Challenge was created in 2012 by my twin brother, Cameron Bellamy, and up until now the team has cycled across the UK, run a global 24hr rowing marathon, raised 27,700 pounds, and Cameron has swum the English Channel.

Cameron's new adventure is a new world first: to row from Australia to South Africa in April 2014. He, along with 7 other crew members, will row across the Indian Ocean (5000 miles) for 2 months, enduring rough unpredicable seas and being completely unsupported.

Words can't explain how imensely proud I am of my little brother. Please can you help me support him and his incredible challenge by giving a donation - any amount will go along way!! Thank you in advance :)
