Story

I'm one of the lucky 5000 people who have been chosen to be part National Lottery Olympic Park Run, which will be the very first race to cross the Olympic Stadium Finish Line, and I'm expecting to finish just in front of Paula Radcliffe!

I want to use this unique occasion to raise money for a charity close to my heart, 'Coaches Across Continents'. The race is on Saturday 31st March, and I will be running 5 miles around the Olympic Park, finishing in the Olympic Stadium.

Coaches Across Continents uses play and football to make social change in some of the most challenging places in the world, like Kibera slum in Kenya. In 2012, the charity will be in more than 15 countries working on social issues like Female Empowerment and Health and Wellness (including. HIV). My husband, Graham volunteered with Coaches Across Continents in 2010, and some of you donated to the charity then, thank you. He saw at first hand the impact of the charity has on the fields and in the communities, and the real difference it makes to the lives of children and adults. In 2011, 95% of all funds raised by Coaches Across Continents was used with community partner programs so this really is a charity worth supporting. I'll be 'enjoying' every step of my run knowing that I'll be making a difference. Please support this fantastic charity.
