On the 13th June I will be doing the 20 mile Pink Ribbonwalk in Bakewell...
As some of you may know in 2012 I was diagnosed with cancer, a journey that has been truly life changing, although that elusive 'all clear' remains elusive I am doing pretty darn well...The 23rd June 2015 will mark 3 years since getting that diagnosis and this seems like a pretty good way to celebrate being very here and offering my own personal '*@!* you' to cancer!
I think it's fair to say most people we know have had or our going through their own personal battles, cancer or otherwise and I am proud to be offering my support in a small way with my time and my tooties.
This challenge gives me the opportunity to set myself a challenge and keep working on getting back to fitness, take part in something surrounded by amazing and inspirational people and hopefully raise money for an incredible charity. I will be doing this as part of the Blister Sisters Team and especially in support of our Team Leader Sue...any support you can give would be truly amazing!
Thank you xxx
P.S....Think it sounds easy? then think again, This is a 5-8 hour 20 mile walk. As a group we are taking part of the Bakewell Pink Ribbon Walk. This is a countryside walk taking in the Derbyshire Dales. Routes are off-road, private tracks, public footpaths, bridleways, roads and streams. The area is hilly and there'll be challenging ascents and descents across all route distance. The Terrain includes 4x4 tracks, grassy pastures, uneven farmland, narrow paths through woodland, farm lanes and riverside paths. Depending on weather some sections may be boggy and slippy....I don't like mud!!
