I am going to be doing a half marathonto raise awareness of pancreatitis. My Dad was diagnosed with pancreatitis in December 2013, he is a fighter and continues to fight against this horrible disease. It is a severally painful disease and requires round the clock medical intervention. Until my Dad was diagnosed we had never heard of the disease. 

Unfortunately dad became even more ill last week and the pancreatitis was so aggressive it was damaging his organs. Dad was very brave and under went a life saving operation. We all thought he was so strong and brave. As they were bringing him round from the operation the next day, the doctors discovered that dad was even worse and planned to try to operate again that night. Dad deteriorated throughout the afternoon and sadly passed away that night on Saturday 15th March. We were all with dad and are all in total shock. 

This is a horrible illness and I think that people need to be more aware of it and ways of preventing it. 

The money I raise will be going to help and support people and families who have and have had pancreatitis.
