It helps the people of Africa and in particular the people of Mali help themselves by providing ambulances and medical equipment and funding for medical facilities and staff. A Charity with a difference, all the overheads are covered by the trustees so every penny donated goes where it should.

Story

Hi everyone!

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to visit my page.

Bamako Bampots aims to raise money for the purchase of Land Rover Ambulances for the people of Bamako and its surrounding areas in Mali.  These vehicles will provide medical facilities that would not normally be available outside of the City of Bamako.  Could you imagine having to walk 75 miles to visit your local GP?

A Facebook friend has organised a sponsored skydive and your fearless hero (me!) stepped up to the challenge.  There were no thoughts of my lifelong fear of heights.  There were no complaints of jumping out of a perfectly good plane.  Nope.  All I could think was "It's for a good cause" and "Sounds like fun."

So if you find yourself staring up at the mid-afternoon sky, on 24th April 2010, and happen to see a group of men and women having a battle with gravity, spare us a thought ... "It's for a good cause" and we're PROBABLY having fun.

Thanks again and please donate.

Kim
