Sarah and myself have taken on the Principal's Star Appeal Trek Challenge for 2010. We will be trekking around 47km in the Ghorepani Poon Hill region reaching altitudes of 3100m in October 2010 to help raise money for the National Star College.
The National Star College is a registered charity and college for learners with physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties. The college offers students the opportunity to further their education where they may not receive the help they require in main stream colleges. The college provides the students with various therapies, work experience and access equipment that promotes their independence skills.
The college is aiming to raise a total of £15.4 million to improve the college facilities which will provide the students with the room and equipment that they require whilst at college. At the moment we have currently raised around £12 million. Which is quite something and changes have already started to take place thanks to the donations from various companies, charities and challenges set by people.
This is a new experience for Sarah and myself and we require the help off our friends and family to help us in raising a mammoth £5000.
We need your help to pass this message onto your friends and your families. We will be holding various events such as Bath bomb classes, dinner parties, discos, and pamper evenings, and taking part in car boots and car washes etc. We have a year to raise this money.
WILL YOU HELP US???? WILL YOU HELP THE STUDENTS????
The cost is broken down as follows. We both need to raise £2500, £1600 is our travel expenses and the £900 is the amount that the college will receive. However, I want to serve these students to the best of my ability and I really want to raise more than the £900. So please, please, please help support us and the students.
Ta muchly.
Kim and Sarah.
