Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m raising money for multiple sclerosis by running the Bath Half, a half marathon (13 miles) in Bath on the 11th March 2012.
For those who don’t know much about the disease, MS is the foremost disabling neurological condition in the UK, affecting one hundred thousand young people in this country alone. These are usually people who previously seemed perfectly healthy, but who are now dealing with symptoms that can be as devastating as they are unpredictable, ranging from simple tingling, to paralysis and loss of cognitive function. The really awful thing is that there is no cure. The disease has been described as the polio of the twenty-first century: an illness against which we still have no vaccine and no unequivocal idea of the cause.
Shift.ms is a charity and website for young adults affected by MS and is the only dedicated support network and charity for young adults living with MS. People are most commonly diagnosed in their 20s and 30s and unlike other MS charities and support groups Shift.ms channel all their efforts to this age group.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I am doing my bit, by running the Bath Half so please do yours by digging deep and donating. Your generosity will be gratefully received and will go towards highlighting a great cause.
