Poem-A-Whatnow...how did you get this number?

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and please sponsor me! I'm one of 60 poets performing at the Poem-A-Thon at the Poetry Cafe, Covent Garden, on Saturday 18 May 2019. The Poem-A-Thon will be non-stop from 12pm to 10pm (10 h*cking hours of poetry!), with each poet performing for 8 minutes.

Why are you doing this? Why?

The Poem-A-Thon will raise funds for The Poetry Society. Money raised will help maintain the development and upkeep of The Poetry Society premises in Covent Garden. (That place may be an amazing home for poetry, but things cost GOLD to fix.) 

Funds will also support The Poetry Society's mission generally, delivering education and talent-development programmes, and promoting the idea that poetry is for everyone. It really is.

The Poetry Cafe was one of the first arts venues I visited in London, and coming from a small town, it gave me a glimpse of what poetry could look like and achieve. That's why I now write about killer scarves, catfish demons and the Rocky Horror Show. It all began here.
