Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In June 2011, I am planning to walk the Speyside Way (from Aviemore to Buckie) to raise money for Give Them A Sporting Chance.  My two friends and I will walk 65 miles in three days, camping on the way.

Give Them A Sporting Chance gives carers and those with disabilities, of all ages, the opportunity to make their sporting or recreational dreams come true.

Sport and recreation play important roles in our lives, while the benefits and pleasures of participating in sporting and recreational events have become increasingly apparent.  Those of us who can turn our dreams into reality very fortunate.  Give Them A Sporting Chance exists to help those special people for whom dreams are much harder to realise.

The most serious illnesses and disabilities present no barrier to dreams, but those whom we seek to help have many other challenges in their lives to overcome.  Give Them A Sporting Chance can make an experience which seemed so out of reach become attainable after all and can help create memories that will last a lifetime.

The charity turns the dreams of disabled people of all ages, and those who care for them, into reality. The recipients have to be recommended by an organisation and those receiving a Sporting Chance have to raise funds for a charity other than Give them a Sporting Chance.

I chose to support this charity as my family benefited from Give Them A Sporting Chance in 2009, when my parents, my two sisters and I, and my brother who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, stayed at Elk Mountain Ranch (http://www.elkmtn.com/index.htm) in Colorado for two weeks.  It was an amazing experience and I would like to the help give other people with disabilites, their families and carers the experience of a lifetime.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.  Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.  Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.  So it’s the most efficient way to donate, as I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you again for visiting my page, your support would mean a lot to me and Give Them A Sporting Chance.
