In March 2012, I was lucky enough to spend 3 wonderful weeks at Animal SOS in Sri Lanka. I cannot put into words the amazing work this charity carries out. It was an emotional time and I saw things that even as a veterinary nurse shocked and saddened me - it does not bear thinking about what would happen to these animals without SOS. 

At present they are caring for over 350 dogs which have been either dumped,abused, injured on the streets or just strays. Every dog gets blood tested,vaccinated,veterinary treatment and is assured of a safe home for life.
