Story

I just wanted to say a thank you to everyone who sponsored me for my 100km in 100day challenge for ‪#‎100forChildsi‬.

So, a bit of an admission. I did in in 102 days due to a little bit of a chest infection set back. But I did it. And actually it was really enjoyable, it has got me back into running again and although the middle-aged spread hasn't actually been impacted in the least (I believe you might have to run faster or longer in one go to do anything about that and I am strictly a 5km at a time dawdler) it was well worth it. I feel better about myself, I have more energy, I get time to myself away from my desk or the kids and it's no longer something I need to "get back into", I now just enjoying doing it.

So my #100forChildsi challenge has been a benefit to me and has raised the £100+ I'd hoped.

We are only 28% of the way through our team target and would love more people to take on a challenge to raise £100 ...

The reason I did it:

On the morning of this year's London Marathon my friend Cathy sent me a text reminiscing about us taking part 9 years before.

I can't believe it. The last time I really ran any distance was in 2005. Since then I have had 2 children, established a comfy (well-fed) life in the countryside and developed the onset of a middle-age spread.

It is time to reclaim my waist and my fitness before I am 40 next year. So I thought I would kick start a new way of life by taking part in Child's i Foundation's #100forChildsi campaign.

#100forChildsi is a campaign to encourage supporters to knock one thing off their bucket list and raise £100 for Child's i Foundation at the same time. £100 is the difference between a child living their life in an orphanage or having a family to call their own.

Thank you so very much for motivating me to make a well needed change in my lifestyle. I will keep you updated of my progress (but not too often I promise!).

Day 1: May 14th 2014 - Day 100: 22 August 2014
