After over 10 years of running, and many races, I'm embarking on two firsts.....my first London Marathon, and the first time I'm turning to family, friends and colleagues for sponsorship.
Retinitis pigmentosa (or RP for short) is a hereditary eye disorder that has affected my family for many years, through my grandma, aunties, uncles and cousins. The common symptons you might have heard of are tunnel vision, or peripheral vision only.
RP is something that not only affects adults, but children as well, and the British RP Society provides support for those with RP and pursues important medical research towards a cure.
Being a charity that is close to home, and a lesser known charity, it is the perfect cause for me to run the marathon for. And if you feel that you can support me, and the charity, in this pursuit it would be appreciated more than you can possibly imagine.
Cheering me on, on the day, would be great too :-)
