Story
On Wednesday 19 March the #nomakeupselfie went viral and incredibly over £1 million was raised as a result of the thousands of people who participated and donated to this very worthwhile cause.
I chose not to take part in this trend as, for me, a personal donation of £3 is not enough to strip back my make-up and show the world what’s underneath. To show my support for this campaign I am taking it back to its origins; the Dare to Bare campaign that ran in October 2013 for Breast Cancer Care http://www.escentual.com/dare-to-bare
For me make-up is a mask of confidence. I genuinely hate the way I and although some of you may think I don’t look all that different with it makeup gives me the confidence to face others and to get on with my day.
In support of my challenge my friend and colleague Helen has also chosen a personal challenge and she will be completing the Bournemouth pier to pier swim in July to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
We’re doing this together and so as soon as we reach a combined total of £100 I will complete 1 week wearing no make-up at all. For every £10 extra we make during that week I will complete another day make up free until the pot stops increasing.
I hope you would like to support us in this challenge. Please donate as much or as little as you can afford and please choose whichever charity you wish to.
If you’d like to read about Helen’s challenge or donate to the British Heart Foundation please go to http://www.justgiving.com/helenmt81
We will both complete our challenge regardless of which charity you chose and mine starts as soon as we reach a combined total of £100.
Thank you for your support.
