The Sheffield Cats Shelter is a small, local charity which has cared for cats and kittens since 1897. They promote responsible pet ownership and help find loving homes for some of the many cats in Sheffield that, for some reason, do not have somebody to look after them.

Five years ago, I adopted my cat Haku from the Sheffield Cat Shelter and left with a warm feeling, not only because of my new furry best friend but also because of the level of care the staff at the shelter have towards the animals. I find it so hard to not want to take all those gorgeous cats home with me, so take some reassurance in knowing that until someone gives them a loving home, they at least have some loving fosters, food and a comfy bed.

Inspiration struck me one day when I was contemplating the amount people are willing to pay to eat good, home made cake.Then I thought about how amazing it would be to have some sort of cake auction to raise money for charity! I then knew that I could use my experience and skills to make this happen and help to give money to those who need it.
