Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Hi!

After having cycled a distance of 430 miles to Paris last year I had no choice but to go more extreme. Thus on March 19 I will embark on an 8-day journey departing from the University of Leeds to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany!

This year I will be undertaking this exciting challenge in aid of raising money for Sense. Sense offers a range of services from advice, housing, education and practical help to children and adults who are both blind and deaf.

This journey will entail many challenges such as enduring the deceitful British weather as well as having to listen to the harsh German accent upon entering Germany. However this challenge is trivial in comparison to those presented to people suffering from being both blind and deaf. Bearing this in mind my journey no longer seems so daunting but rather humbling. I really hope that you the reader will be able to donate no matter how small the amount. Every penny of your donation will go a long way in helping those severely less fortunate then we are. Charity and alms are the best remedy for ailments and calamities (Imam Ali). Thank you for taking time to read my story.

Thanks
