Story

Ethan, my youngest son, has been diagnosed with Williams Syndrome, a chromosome disorder which comes with a complex selection of physical and mental challenges.  We're still learning about Williams Syndrome, but the Foundation has already been a great source of information and help for us.

Along with providing information and support for families, the Foundation is actively involved in funding and sponsoring medical and educational research to help people with Williams Syndrome reach their highest potential.  Please visit the website to find out more about the foundation.

Any amount you can spare would be gratefully received and put to very good use.  I have chosen the Stroud Half Marathon as my first event to support the charity as the event has had the Foundation as a featured charity for some 10 years now.  I will be part of "Team Williams Syndrome" on the day - a large group all raising money for one cause - this also gives us an opportunity to spend some time with other families affected by Williams Syndrome

About the charity

The Williams Syndrome Foundation was formed in 1980 and is run by parents for parents of children with this rare condition which causes heart and kidney problems and learning difficulties. It desperately needs funds to finance its ambitious research and family support programmes which include national conventions and regional meetings.
