Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2010 after much fighting, my mum Lorraine Stewart lost her battle with cancer, aged just 48.
My mum was a really positive person, she loved life and never stopped battling, her outlook on life was fantastic and she was an inspiration to many people. Despite the ilness, her positive outlook never once wavered and she gave hope to others in similar situations.
It was this courage, bravery and positivity that contributed to my mum surviving significantly longer than the medical advice suggested, and those extra months were invaluable. We shared some fantastic time that no-one thought she had.
My mum often talked about the staff and people at the oncology day unit and I cant stress enough how important they were during her illness. They contributed massively to my mum being able to battle for as long as she did and they deserve credit, support and thanks for the memories that we all have, that perhaps otherwise we would not.
Please support me running the Great North Run for this fantastic cause, in my mums memory. I can tell you from experience that whatever you contribute will be worth much more than that to somebody in this area, and perhaps someone close to your heart.
