Myself and a very close friend have set ourselves challenges over the next few years to honour Laila, Laila was young energetic woman who set about changing the world she travelled teaching English to many students and it was whilst she was teaching English to South American students in London she contracted Tuberculosis (TB)
Whilst teaching in travelled to South American she became very ill and after months in hospital in Argentina she stabilised and returned home, after a short while she was taken ill once more and eventually died in July 2008 at the young age of 25.
The First of our challenges is to raise money for TB alert a charity which helped Laila and their family through some very difficult times by entering this years Great North Run. The Great North Run is a 13.1 mile half marathon with emphasis on FUN it’s the world’s largest fun run with 50 000 entrants raising tens of thousands for many charities.
