Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2001 my aunt, Donna Mallison, was diagnosed with cancer.  Soon after I decided I wanted to run the London marathon to raise money for the charity of her choice.  Sadly, in 2004 Donna lost her battle, but now in 2010 I have my place to run in her memory.  I'll be raising money for the St. David's Foundation, a palliative care service in South Wales who gave her and her family such wonderful care when she needed it most.

I'm also raising money on behalf of Sandra Miller and her family.  Sandra, a friend and my running partner in the 2007 Reading Half Marathon lost her fight against the same disease in March this year.  Her words of encouragement and admiration for the St. David's Foundation have pushed me through months of training and they will carry me across the line.

26.2 miles seems like a very long way to me right now, but I will make it and, when it hurts most, Donna and Sandra will keep me going.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks for your support.
