My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our Mary's Meals JustGiving page.
We have set this page up to allow people to sponsor us on our London to Sydney bike ride, which commences in April 2010. For more information on the ride, please see our website: http://www.londontosydneybybike.wordpress.com.
Mary's Meals is an excellent charity that makes a tremendous difference to the lives of school-age children in some of the poorest parts of the world, simply by providing school meals. Often this meal will be the most substantial meal of the day for these children, and so this incentivizes them to attend school. Importantly, it also encourages parents to send their children to school rather than keeping them at home to work. Mary’s Meals is an international movement that sets up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity now feeds more than 600,000 children every school day and it costs just £10.70 / €12.40 / $16.80 to feed a child for a year.
