Spires and Steeples Challenge 1010 · 17 October 2010

The Ear Foundation helped fund the first cochlear implants for deaf children in the UK. We now support children, young people & adults who use a variety of modern hearing technologies. Offering independent advice & activites to bridge the gap between clinics where they're fitted and home where used.

Story

On Sunday 17th October we will be taking part in the Spires and Steeples 2010 Challenge - a 13 mile walk from Metheringham to Sleaford, in aid of The Ear Foundation www.earfoundation.org.uk

The Ear Foundation was established in 1989 to bring cochlear implantation for deaf children to the UK.  Cochlear implants give useful hearing to those unable to benefit from hearing aids. It provides long-term help for the child, family and supporting professionals. One half of profoundly deaf children in the UK now have cochlear implants.
