Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On August 14th, Dan, Eric, Graham, Jon and Mark are setting-off - in strict alphabetical order - from Land’s End to cycle the length of Britain, something that we’d very much appreciate sponsorship for.

Fuelled by pasties and cream teas, we’ll head into the rolling West Country, before turning north through the Welsh Marches and across the Cheshire Plain to arrive, 6 days later, in Manchester.

Then the real “fun” begins as we pedal up into the hills of Pennine Lancashire, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes, including a detour to face the , the highest road in the .

We cross the Scottish Border early on Day 9, and after 10 days of hard riding we’ll reach Stirling, ‘Gateway to the Highlands’, and probably the hardest two days ride of the trip - they’re not called Highlands for nothing!

All eyes will be trained for spotting a plesiosaur on Day 13, before we turn north through Caithness to reach the North Scottish Coast and a signpost, and possibly a small fishing trawler, in front of which to record our achievement, before becoming the umpteenth group to bore the local landlord about our adventures.

You may be wondering how far our route is. We’re not exactly sure to be honest, but we know that we’ll be raising our water bottles to salute clocking-up at least 1000 miles in aid of banter, camaraderie, challenge, epic card games, a keenness for regional delicacies, a sense of satisfaction, and a charity called Sustrans.
