Story

29 June
We did it!  All 14 members of the LEJOG'08 cycle team arrived - on their bikes - at John O'Groats at 12.50pm on Sunday afternoon.  Thanks for everyone's support along the way - it really kept us going.  You can read our daily diary of the trip on our website (link below).  Keep donating - we've raised over £10,000 so far.

18 June
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.  We are now on our way, so you can check our progress on our website at http://www.LEJOGcycle2008.co.uk

14 April
Just over 9 weeks until departure day - and would be fair to say that anxiety levels in the team are mounting daily.   At least there's a chance that the weather may be slightly less cold, wet, snowy, windy than it has been over the past couple of months, which would help to make training more pleasant.  And with long training rides now up to 7 hours, having nice weather makes a big difference!

We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored us so far, and in particular to our very generous corporate sponsors: REN Skincare, Haribo, Sphinx, Northdoor, Robson Taylor and Jones Lang LaSalle.  Every donation, however big or small, makes a real difference.

Also we'd like to welcome three more crucial members to the team: Camilla, Jean and Martin, who will be joining Juanita in the van at various stages of the journey.

We've had lots of very kind people volunteering to make us lunch along the way.  Strangely no one has yet come forward for the Oban to John O'Groats stretch, so if you do happen to be planning to be in that neck of the woods 27-29 June and fancy bringing 14 hungry cyclists (and their 2 support drivers) some lunch, that would be fantastic.  Alternatively, if you're not in the neighbourhood, why not 'sponsor our lunch stop'?

for more information about the trip - and how you can support it, visit our website at: www.LEJOGcycle2008.co.uk.

And why not enter our LEJOG 2008 Sweepstake at http://www.justgiving.com/lejogcycle2008sweepstake
and guess how long it is going to take us to cycle the route.  Every £2 makes a real difference.

19 November
We had our first official LEJOG 2008 planning meeting this weekend, including a 52km bike ride in the freezing cold, pouring rain and strong winds... hopefully it won't be quite as bad conditions as these in June!  There's lots of stuff that we need to organise for our trip, but if anyone can:
- sponsor our TEAM LEJOG 2008 shirts
- spare a day or two (or more) to keep Juanita company in the support van (who could turn down such an offer?)
- provide us with any lunches or dinners en route
please drop us a line.

21 August
The team's confirmed!  14 off us will be cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats over 11 days from 19 - 29 June 2008, with superstar support driver Juanita driving the van.

So please help inspire us to cycle harder up those hills (especially when the wind and rain is squalling around us) by sponsoring us, and help Macmillan continue to do their fantastic work.  Just click on the 'sponsor us now' button at the bottom of this page.
