Story
Hi My name is Lewis Hine and I am 5 years old. On 22nd October 2006 I have asked my friends and family to run the Great South Run for me but with a twist…dressed as Superhero's!!! So watch out as Spiderman, batgirl, buzz lightyear and friends will be taking to the streets of Portsmouth on October 22nd for a 10 mile run!!!
I have arranged for all 22 fantastic Superheroes to take to the streets of Southsea, to do the Great South Run, and raise money for the Charity ASBAH .
So why am I doing this?… well… 4 years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumour and Hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is incurable but the symptoms can be treated with a devise called a 'shunt'. Unfortunatley a 'shunt' is mechanical and prone to malfunction or infection, meaning more life saving surgery is needed.
By sponsoring the superheroes you are not only providing support for the familes affected by this illness but also supporting essential research into the illness. We hope to find better ways to limit 'shunt' malfunctions meaning less operations and hopefully, in an ideal world, a cure.
For more information about the work I do or about Hydrocephalus please visit my website at WWW.LEWISHINE.CO.UK
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Association For Spina Bifida And Hydrocephalus will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.
