Story

Dear friends,

Last year I tackled the Bupa London 10K as a complete running virgin and managed to not only finish the race, but raise £1,019 for Christian Aid in the process thanks to your kind donations!

This year I am doubling the distance and attempting to conquer the world's most popular half-marathon (apparently) - The Great North Run. I have bought some new shorts (see picture) and am in extensive training, which you can track at lukeleighfieldruns.tumblr.com.

I'm proud to be running for Christian Aid again this year - they are a wonderful charity working to bring an end to poverty around the world by tackling its root causes as well as its effects. Their work is especially pertinent right now as they address the crisis in East Africa, where there is a huge drought and shortage of food.

Any donations will be extremely gratefully received - there is such need in East Africa at the moment, and anything we can do to help is so vitally important.

Thank you for reading,

From Luke
