Bristol Half Marathon 2012 · 30 September 2012 ·

Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity is your local NHS charity doing great things to improve the health and happiness of every patient in all 10 of the UHBW hospitals.

Story

Having failed to reach our original target of £5'000 i have decided to try and top up the original pot by taking part in the Paris marathon Sunday April the 7th. Thanks to those who already donated, if you could dip in to your pockets once again (however small) it would be appreciated although you should arguably sponsor me twice as much as it's twice as far!!! A gentle reminder below as to why i'm doing this.

In September 2011, a close colleague of ours suddenly passed away during the 2011 Bristol Half Marathon. As some of you will know, Nick Read wasvery fit and healthy, just 34 years old and worked within our Industry for Crown House Technologies as a Senior Electrical Engineer. Nick was close to the finishing line, when suddenly he felt unwell, collapsed and tragically died on the scene.

In memory of Nick, we have put a Team together and will be running the 2012 Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday 30 September.

We are running on behalf of 2 charities; Cardiac Risk in the Young and Above & Beyond. Due to technical difficulties we are unable to post a link to both charities on one site so could we ask that you split your donation between our two pages. The link to the other is given above.
