The Bujagali Trust supports educational projects in Uganda, East Africa. It has developed and now runs a nursery; it supports students in primary and secondary education; and is developing a vocational school. This will equip young people with practical, business and educational skills that can be used throughout the children's lives.

We've joined together to raise money for the BUJAGALI TRUST in UGANDA. You'll see our team fundraising target above and donations to date have helped us achieve this goal! However, please do not stop giving as a higher total would enable us to assist with larger projects in school communities in Uganda. Every little helps!

In October 2010 group of Leighton Park students travelled to Jinja, Uganda to work in a school community helping to build a new kitchen, renovate classrooms, paint buildings, assemble new desks, construct new sporting equipment and run sports coaching sessions. They were welcomed into the community by incredibly happy, but, very poor children many of whom had no shoes and only the clothes that they came to school in.

The group raised all the money for the materials, tools and related equipment for the projects by undertaking their own sponsored activities ahead of their expedition.

In October 2012 another group of Leighton Park students is travelling to Uganda to undertake community project work in a similarly poor and under privileged school. Our fund raising effort is designed to assist this group so that they may have all the equipment required to complete a number of worthy community projects whilst they are there. More importantly, the results of the work leave lasting benefits for hundreds of poor children who would otherwise go without. What better legacy could your donations be contributing to?
