Story
We are part of the Human Resources team at the London School of Economics and Political Science and we are running the Hackney Half Marathon on 10th May 2015 to raise money for Mind, the mental health charity.
We all enjoy running – to various degrees! – but a half marathon is a challenge for us all and a new experience for two of us. We wanted to use this opportunity to raise money for a charity that does important work in an area that is likely to affect us all at some point in our lives. Whether it will be coping with a mental illness ourselves, supporting loved ones, or indeed working with colleagues who may have a mental health issue, we can all benefit from a charity that both supports and advises, but also campaigns to improve mental health services and to de-stigmatise the subject of mental health.
No matter how small, every donation will be gratefully received and we’ll do our best to honour the donations by all crossing the finish line in one piece on 10th May. We currently only have 7 working Achilles Tendons between us, but we’ll hop, skip and jump the 13.1 miles if we need to!
Thanks in advance for your support.
