Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. A team of LTSB Healthcare Managers will be cycling 50 miles across Devon and Cornwall, completing the Tarka and Camel Trails on Wednesday 9 September. We'll be honest - Mike Craigie, Clive Rowe, Chris Bowring and Noel Munson are not hardened cyclists by any means, but hopefully we won't be needing the world class medical research that is being done at The Peninsula Medical School - right here on our doorstep at sites in Plymouth, Truro and Exeter! Our support crew, David Leaman and Martyn Davies, will get us across country - or to the hospital if needed...
Following a recent visit to the Plymouth facility, we are hoping to raise money to help fund the studies of the GPs of the future, and this statement from the Peninsula Medical School Foundation sums it up nicely:
HELPING THE DOCTORS OF TOMORROW, TODAY
Donations to the Foundation help our students. We have
one of the highest proportions of “non traditional” students –
people whose parents are not in the “professions”, many of
whom will be the first generation in their family to go to
university – and we want to help them. So we award
bursaries in particular to those who struggle to meet the
fierce financial demands of the five years of study required
to create the doctors of tomorrow. There is a shortage of
doctors in the UK – the Peninsula Medical School, with your
help, will be producing the very best of the doctors we so
badly need.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you for your valued support.
