We want to ensure that every patient at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals experiences the highest quality of care available. We raise funds for cutting edge technology, additional specialist staff and extra comforts for patients, over and above what is possible with NHS funding alone.

Story

I've never done anything as difficult as this - attempting to sail across the channel from the Solent to Cherbourg before (apart from swimming the 22 miles of the channel - in a swimming pool for Cancer research) but only have to think of all those people in hospitals that can't do ANYTHING. This spurs me on. At 68 I am lucky enough to still be active and this is my way of being thankful for health and strength. Every donation is welcome as it all adds up towards a replacement "Da Vinci" robotic surgeon for the treatment of cancer. My friend Jenny and I collected £62.4ld in a collecting tin on the fund raising night at The Woolcomber pub on Saturday 19 which as a joint venture is going to start us off on our fundraising journey. Please be as generous as you are able.
