LUS has come a long way in the past four years: we now have 140 pupils, six classrooms, a fully-qualified head teacher, a massive accommodation block and a brand new kitchen for 'house mother' Hawa (so that she can cook three nourishing meals a day for our girls). None of this would have been possible without donations from friends, family and kind strangers, so thank you to everyone for your support so far.

Of course, there is always room for improvement and LUS needs to continue growing so that we can provide the best opportunities for our girls and help more children like them. 

The school pharmacy was set up in 2009 and stocked with essentials such as multivitamins, rehydration sachets, painkillers, antibiotics, de-worming tablets, dressings and antimalarial drugs. We now want to expand our pharmacy so that we have a constant supply of medicines and are able to provide not only for our pupils, but our staff and their families, as well as the surrounding community.
