Great Manchester Run 2016 · 22 May 2016 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

In May 2013, just before my 21st birthday, I was diagnosed with stage 2a Hodgkins Lymphoma. 2 Years ago I ran this race with my boyfriend and raised over £1,000 for Bloodwise, a UK charity which supports research for blood cancers.
This year I have much more modest goals money-wise, but as my first year without regular scans, I wanted to mark the occasion and give back.

I've come incredibly far since that diagnosis and I'm running not only to celebrate my own health but to ensure the health of many others like me.
