The Lady Taverners Play Spaces Appeal has been set up to provide children with disabilities the everyday opportunity to play.

'Play time' is proven to improve children's physical and mental health, help develop emotional responses, learning skills and improve basic numeracy and literacy. 

There are currently over 800,000 children under the age of 16 in the UK with a disability or a long-term medical condition, and due to lack of availability and funding, they may not have access to play areas adapted for their needs.

There are approximately 1,000 special schools across the UK catering for children with severe learning and physical disabilities, it is vital that these schools have access to suitable outdoor play equipment.
