My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Me and few of the guys and girls from work have decided to raise money for the David Lewis Centre by completing either one or two laps of Lake Vyrnwy. I've signed up for two laps, which equates to 24 miles (it's amazing what you get committed to when you're on holiday!). The David Lewis Centre provides medical, educational and residential services and care for children and adults with complex epilepsy and other neurological conditions. They provide invaluable support for those affected by these conditions, and every penny raised by this sponsored walk will be used to continue providing these services.

If tugging at your heart strings isn't enough, there's an additional incentive for any film buffs out there. Lake Vyrnwy is one of the lakes that was used by the RAF to develop the bouncing bomb during the Second World War, with the aim of destroying three dams in Germany. This was depicted in the 1955 movie The Dam Busters. So if you have a spare page in your true-stories-turned-into-movies scrapbook for a few contemporary photos of the Dam Busters lake, or you're off to the 2009 black-and-white-war-movies-starring-Richard-Todd-and-Michael-Redgrave convention and need an anecdote to wow your fellow convention goers with, then donate whatever you can to the cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
