In a couple of weeks on 25th June in a moment of madness, I will be donning a wetsuit and jumping into the icy Serpentine in Hyde Park to swim a mile to raise funds for Many Ogilvy Hands.
This November, I will be heading out to Southern Uganda for a week to help build a school in the town of Buikwe. This project was started by my work (Ogilvy) and is part of a major five-year project, but it’s just the beginning. We hope to do much, much more.
We chose to build a secondary school because there simply aren’t enough schools in Uganda, and the children who do manage to get an education usually have to leave at 14 and start labouring to support their families.
It’s a sustainable project partnered with an established charity International Needs, who have a strong, nurturing presence in Uganda. All sponsorship raised on this site will go directly to the charity to buy materials, labour and generally keep this project on track (it's not to fund my trip!).
Thank you so much for making the time to sponsor me. I will be sure to let you know how I get on, both in the Serpentine and in Uganda.
Lally
