Byte Night Manchester 2013 · 4 October 2013 to 5 October 2013 ·

We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support. We ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives. Our vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.

Story

Byte Night is Action for Children’s annual flagship fundraising event, raising money to help tackle the root causes of youth homelessness.

On Friday 4th October me and some of my team-mates - Kyle Hogg, Luke Procter, Gareth Cross and Arron Lilley -  will be sleeping out in Manchester to raise awareness and funds for Action for Children. We will be abandoning our warm, comfortable beds for a night under the stars with a sleeping bag and plenty of layers of clothing!

At least 75,000 children and young people experience homelessness each year and, of those, 1 in 3 will attempt suicide and 1 in 7 will be physically or sexually assaulted. Solving youth homelessness is about more than taking people off the streets. Action for Children works to prevent youth homelessness through early intervention by ensuring that young people across the UK are given the support they need before it’s too late.
