<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit&nbsp;our JustGiving page.</p> <p><em><strong>THE CARTEN 100:</strong></em></p> <p>The <span class="colour">CARTEN 100</span> cycle ride takes place roughly over a ten hour period as we take a leisurely ride from Cardiff to Tenby.&nbsp; While the main aim is to get people on their bikes, a benefit of the day is the money we raise for charity.</p> <p><em><strong>VELINDRE CANCER CENTRE:&nbsp;</strong></em></p> <p>This year's nominated charity is Velindre Cancer Centre.&nbsp; Velindre Cancer Centre is the largest non - surgical cancer Hospital in Wales providing Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments for over half the people of Wales.</p> <p>They have been providing care and support to cancer patients in South Wales for over 50 years. Every possible effort is made to ensure that each visit to Velindre is as comfortable as possible, and the experienced staff aim to provide high quality care to patients and their families. It is this commitment to high quality care which means that Velindre is widely regarded as being a Centre of Excellence.</p> <p><em><strong>THE LEGAL &amp; GENERAL TEAM:</strong></em></p> <p>A group of the Protection Technology &amp; Business Change Team in Cardiff are riding in this year's event.&nbsp; We have a range of skills and abilities from the hardened cycling veteran to complete novices!&nbsp;&nbsp;The team&nbsp;are taking training very seriously with many hours <em>"in the saddle"</em> planned in over the next few months.&nbsp;&nbsp;The aim is to complete the route as a group within 10 hours.</p> <p><em><strong>THE ROUTE:</strong></em></p> <p>Basically&nbsp;the route&nbsp;follows the A48/A483 to Swansea. Then on towards The Mumbles to cut across the Gower on the Clyne Gardens cycle route, pass through Llanelli onto the Millennium Cycleway to Burry Port. From there to Camarthen on the A484 and onto the A40 to St. Clears. Finally the A477/A478 to Tenby, with a stop at Red Roses for refreshments.&nbsp; If you are interested, there is a map <a title="The Route" href="http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3689254" target="_blank">here</a>.</p> <p><em><strong>SPONSORSHIP/DONATIONS - THE TARGET:</strong></em></p> <p>The team are aiming to get donations/sponsorship of around &pound;100 each (&pound;700 in total as a team).&nbsp; Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
