***UPDATE***

On Thursday, 8th April 2010, the 5 of us successfully crossed the John o'Groats finish line, thereby completing our 989 mile journey. We cycled through rain, snow, sleet, strong winds, and even a bit of sunshine during our adventure- so we feel we've done the journey properly, not like it was some sunny afternoon cycle to the pub! Unfortunately the weather and low cloud in particular did mean that we managed to pass some of the sights (for example Ben Nevis) without seeing anything of them. Despite this, we have all had a great time doing the cycling, and feel a great sense of achievement (and no small amount of relief) in arriving in JoG. I have to admit, there were various comments about bikes being ceremonially scrapped towards the end, but there were also, more positively I suppose, conversations about "if I were to do this again...."

We had two punctures during the trip, both of which were in Jon's rear tyre, which obviously didn't find the going quite as easy as he did, and I am also pleased to report that there was no walking up any hills! We are now all back in Cheltenham and recovering with various limps and aches, although I think we've all got over our 'John Wayne' swaggers.

Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far, both on and off-line, everyone has been very generous. I'd also like to thank everyone who donated on the road side to 5 blokes in strange high-vis jackets who were walking a bit weirdly, the support we received surprised us all I think.

This page is still open for further donations should anyone be feeling generous, or for those of you who wanted to make sure that we completed it before parting with cash (don't worry, we can understand your doubts!).

Thanks, Andy, Ben N, Jon, Lance and Ben S.
