Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common cause of disability in young people. Once diagnosed it will affect the rest of a person's life. The charity MS Research is “Looking forward to seeing the back of MS!” We aim to fund high quality research and to seek better ways of treating MS.

Story

Hello, my name is Lara Alexander and I am a GCSE student at Moira House Girls School in Eastbourne. This summer I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis. Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s highest peaks and at 5895 metres is the highest mountain in Africa. Located on the border of Tanzania and Kenya, its ascent is both physically and mentally challenging. The awards for any aspiring summiter are breath-taking views and a huge sense of achievement. My motivation for choosing MS Research  is personal; twelve years ago my uncle was diagnosed with MS and I have witnessed how the disease has affected him, my Aunt and my cousins. I hope you are able to support me in my efforts and help me make a small step towards finding a cure for MS.
