This September I will be participating in the <strong>Teide Challenge</strong> to raise funds for the <strong>Atlantic Whale Foundation</strong> by trekking up an active volcano!</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">The AWF (http://www.awf-volunteeringabroad.org/) is an amazing charity that works with whale and dolphin conservation as well as co-ordinating a network of grass root conservation and community projects around the world.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">As my first ever solo expedition, I'll be heading out in September to the AWF&rsquo;s main operating base in Tenerife to volunteer for 3 weeks.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">As part of this I am climbing Mount Teide, the third highest volcano in the world, at nearly four thousand metres high it is two and a half times higher than Ben Nevis! It casts the longest shadow in the world and the aim is to reach the summit by sunrise to see this.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">This will be the most physically challenging thing I've ever done by far.&nbsp;I&rsquo;m terrified, excited and highly determined so please show your support by digging deep and donating now!</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->&nbsp;<!--[endif]--></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
