Well hellooooo there generous people :)

Well the 10K has been completed for Cancer research, thanks to all those who sponsored me for that, it was very much appreciated. 

Now this time I'm going to go just that little bit further (an extra 11km to be exact).  This time in aid of The Eve Appeal which funds research into gynaecological cancers which covers Ovarian, Cervical, Vulval, Vagina and Uterine cancer. 

Each year in the UK 6,600 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and 4,400 women die from the disease. When ovarian cancer is diagnosed at an advanced stage, the mortality rates are even more devastating.

Ovarian cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer death in women in the UK and the most common cause of gynaecological cancer death.  The Eve Appeal work hard to raise awareness of this disease which is neither a well-profiled nor a well-funded cause.

I felt the need to do my bit for the cause when mum was diagnosed and treated for ovarian cancer for the second time this year.  Fortunately she has been given the all clear and we have to thank the work of all those who played a part in her diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
