<p style="line-height: 18pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Jersey registered charity ‘Education Fund for Luweero Orphans’ (‘EFLO’) was formed in 2007 with the purpose of funding a primary school that had been built in that year, following a Jersey Overseas Aid (‘JOA’) project to Luweero, in Uganda.<span> </span>The primary objective of the school is to look after and provide education facilities for orphaned children, whose parents have died through HIV / AIDs.</span></p>
<p style="line-height: 18pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The charity was initially set up by the 15 volunteers who took part in the 2007 Overseas Aid Project, but has increased its membership by recruiting volunteers who have taken part in subsequent JOA projects to the same area in 2008 and 2009, as well as recruiting their family members and friends. There are now over 35 active members.</span></p>
<p style="line-height: 18pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The charity therefore not only now helps to support the running costs of the school, but has expanded its mandate to include a farm project, which is directly linked to the school.</span></p>
<p style="line-height: 18pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">I am making the trip to Uganda at the end of February - all personal costs have been covered by myself - your generous donations will be spent wisely on the community upon arrival when I, along with other team members, have assessed the greatest need for it. </span></p>
<p style="line-height: 18pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">I am aiming to raise £1000.00 in just one month, so anything you can give is greatly appreciated and will be of great help to the people I am going to meet.</span></p>
