All funds raised from the Abseil event will go towards the ZSL Lions campaign. With only 400 Asian Lions left in the wild, you will be supporting the urgent work needed to ensure the future of Asian Lions in India and create a stunning home for ZSL London Zoo’s Asiatic Lions which will inspire commitment from all who visit.

Asian Lions survive only in the Gir Forest in Western India but this tiny isolated population is vulnerable to disaster, disease and inbreeding.  The lions share the Gir Forest protected area with over 15,000 people who use the land to graze cattle. Human – wildlife conflict is escalating with more than 40% of lion deaths now linked to humans. Resolving these clashes between lions and humans is the most important challenge for conservation.
