<p>So 10k might not seem much to the average person, but when you are blessed with legs the length of the average eight-year-old, it's a blooming long way.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>It's probably worth mentioning that despite the name of the charity - The Laura Centre - the cash that you are hopefully about to kindly donate will not being going towards a nice holiday for me.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In fact The Laura Centre is a pretty awesome charity from Leicester. They give bereavement counselling to kids who lose a parent or sibling, and parents who experience the death of a child.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Laura Centre was co-founded by Gail and Harry Moore after their five-year-old daughter Laura died of cancer in 1989.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The couple and Laura’s twin brother Kit wanted to make sure no family in Leicestershire would ever feel as alone as they did. So The Laura Centre was born.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I came across The Laura Centre at Christmas when I led our paper's (The Leicester Mercury) campaign to raise £50,000 for them in just five weeks. Well, we blooming well did it. Along the way I got to meet some amazing people who bascially got through the worst times in their lives thanks to this amazing charity.</p>
