Laura Hudson's London Marathon fundraising page

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Hello one and all, thanks very much for taking the time to visit my page.
This year I will be running the London Marathon and my chosen charity is the Severn Hospice.
Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help. Last year, all those individual donations helped Severn Hospice to provide £9.88 million of caring services.
Severn Hospice is close to my heart, as they provided my mum, Gail Hudson, the care she needed during the latter stage of her life. She was a carrier of the BRCA2 gene mutation, (a gene that runs in our family), which gives 'carriers' approximately a 70% chance of developing breast cancer in their lifetimes.
Mum sadly passed away, in Severn Hospice, on 31st January 2013 after losing her long battle with breast cancer at just 47 years old.
Mum spent a large proportion of her later life suffering due to cancer. Like many others, I have witnessed first-hand how cruel cancer can be. Severn Hospice supported us as a family with the kind caring staff and being a place where as a family we could stay when needed.
Any donations are hugely appreciated no matter how small.
Now for the training... Wish me luck!!
