Story
Hello to everyone,
As part of a team of 38 students from Loughborough University, i am thrilled to say i will be taking part in whats known as 'the most spectacular trek on earth' in Peru next August. The charity chosen to fundraise for this year is yet another incredible one known as Epilepsy Society.
Did you know that 1 in 100 people are diagnosed with epilepsy each day? More than half a million people in the Uk suffer from this neurological condition. Although there is currently no cure, through their cutting edge research and expert care the Epilepsy Society work with anyone who is affected by epilepsy in the UK.
Although i do not know anyone directly affected by epilepsy, over the past few months I have come to acknowledge the daily struggles and life changing decisions that many people have to face each second of each day.
My target of £3000 this year could answer 100 helpline calls or run a research lab for 4 weeks. SO, all I'm asking is for you to please donate to this amazing charity however big or small that may be! This is a relatively small charity with an income of approximately £1.8m and for that reason YOU can make such huge impact!
Thank you for all you're support and donations, they are greatly appreciated on behalf of myself and The Epilepsy Society.
Laura!
