I seem to be unable to resist the chance to run around the streets of Birmingham each October, this being my fifth year in a row running the half or the full marathon. It never gets any easier and by the end of each run I'm ready to throw my trainers in the nearest canal. 

However, I keep coming back because the thousands of pounds raised each year, and the hundreds of people supporting the runners, show just how great Birmingham is. 

LoveBrum is a Birmingham charity that engages with and supports local people and businesses to build an even better Birmingham. They support and promote the hidden gems of the city, giving small charities much needed funds and the voice they deserve.
