Last year my best friend Nichola was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I can remember where I was when she told me the sad news, I was in complete shock and thought how can this happen to my friend! She spent most of last year very poorly after having chemo and radiotherapy. I went to sit with Nichola when she had her first chemo, it was a weird experience. I didn't know what to expect I was slightly scared which is selfish of me really because I wasn't the one having treatment. Throughout Nicholas treatment I remained positive and I was always there to put a smile on her face when she needed it. 

Nichola is now in remission and is getting her life and health back on track! Nichola has told me what an amazing job all the doctors and nurses did and she's grateful for the care they provided! I thought I would do race for life just to give something's back, to show my appreciation to cancer research! Without them I may not have had my Nichola.
