I am raising money for Medecins du Monde UK (MdM UK), an international humanitarian aid organisation providing medical care worldwide to vulnerable populations affected by conflict, natural disasters or extreme poverty. MdM's main objective is to achieve universal access to healthcare for vulnerable people worldwide. I was fortunate enough to spend 6 months volunteering with MdM UK on a project in East London providing healthcare and practical assistance to vulnerable people to help them access the NHS and other services. It is an extremely worthwhile cause that enables vulnerable people to receive the vital treatment and care they need, a basic human right. This is a charity I feel very passionate about and hope to do more volunteer work with them as a doctor on an international project. MdM currently has 185 projects running in 60 countries worldwide.
